David was raised in Jackson, Michigan. He met his wife Anna performing youth mission work in Honduras. David and Anna were married in 1999 and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 2000. They now live on an acreage near Denton, Nebraska raising their children. When David isn’t at the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and teaching his children to garden, hunt, fish, and scuba dive.
Legal Career
David M. Handley is a licensed attorney who began practicing law after graduating from Creighton University School of Law in 2002. David has practiced primarily in workers’ compensation and personal injury since 2003. David was an assistant attorney general in the Nebraska Attorney General’s office in 2006 before returning to private practice. David has substantial trial experience as well as appellate court experience. He has argued multiple cases at the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court three-judge panel prior to its dissolution, the Nebraska Court of Appeals, and the Nebraska Supreme Court. In 2014 David argued and won the influential case of Rodgers v. Nebraska State Fair, which expanded benefits for injured workers.
From 2002 to 2017, David worked for law firms of varying sizes. While gaining valuable legal experience he also saw the importance of a close personal relationship with his clients. The demands of a larger law firm detract from the ability to form those relationships. In January 2018, David formed Handley Law and has been winning cases for his clients while forming relationships with them ever since.
